Gobble Guide – Terms of Use

Welcome to Gobble Guide (“the App”). Gobble Guide is a user-generated content (UGC) mobile application that allows users to create, upload, share, and interact with recipe posts. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must:

Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country).
Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and platform rules (Google Play Store and Apple App Store policies).

2. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate account information.
Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
Be responsible for all activity under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete any account that violates these Terms.

3. User-Generated Content (UGC)

3.1 Ownership of Your Content

You retain ownership of the recipes, images, text, and other content (“Content”) you create and upload.

3.2 License You Grant to Us

By uploading Content to Gobble Guide, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

Store, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your Content within the App.
Promote the App using your Content (e.g., screenshots, previews).
Make your Content available to other users according to your privacy settings.

This license ends when you delete your Content or your account, except:

Copies that may remain in backups for a limited time.
Content shared by other users (e.g., when another user has saved your recipe).

3.3 Your Responsibilities

You agree that your Content must not:

Violate copyright, trademarks, or other rights of any person or entity.
Contain harmful, abusive, discriminatory, or illegal material.
Include misinformation about health, nutrition, or food safety.
Include advertisements, spam, scams, or promotional content.
Contain malware or attempt to disrupt the App.

3.4 Content Moderation

We reserve the right (but are not obligated) to:

Review, moderate, or remove Content that violates these Terms or platform policies.
Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate rules.

Content moderation may be automated, manual, or both.

Our Community Guidelines form part of these Terms.

3.5 Importing Content From Other Sources

The App lets you import recipes from links and from photos or screenshots. When you import, you confirm that:

You have the right to copy, adapt and use the material, or your use is permitted by law (for example, personal use of recipe text).
You will not post imported material that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights. Imported content is your Content under these Terms and you are responsible for it.
Your use of the source websites and platforms (such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest) complies with their terms.

Gobble Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those platforms. We do not guarantee that imports from any site or platform will work or continue to work.

If you believe content in the App infringes your rights, contact dev@gobbleguideapp.com with the details, including a link to the content, and we will review it and remove it where appropriate.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

Misuse the App for unlawful purposes.
Create fake accounts or impersonate others.
Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the App’s code or security.
Use bots or automated tools to scrape or interact with the App.

Violation of this policy may result in immediate termination.

5. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, text, code, and design elements belonging to Gobble Guide remain our exclusive property. You may not copy, distribute, or modify any part of the App without permission.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy describes:

What information we collect.
How we store and protect it.
How it is used to operate the App.

By using the App, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

7. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Some features require a paid subscription (“Premium”). Billing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and our subscriptions are processed through RevenueCat.

Free trial: New eligible users may be offered a free trial of 30 days. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription converts to a paid subscription at the price shown at purchase.
Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Your account is charged within 24 hours before renewal.
Cancellation: Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, and not by Gobble Guide.
Price changes: We may change prices, and will give notice as required by the store.

8. Third-Party Services

Gobble Guide may integrate with third-party services such as:

Firebase
Analytics tools
Payment processors (e.g., Google Play Billing, Apple In-App Purchases, RevenueCat)
Google Gemini (AI import), Google ML Kit (on-device text recognition), Expo (push notifications), Resend (email), and the platforms you import from

Each third-party service has its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content, practices, availability or services of third parties.

9. AI Features and Imported Recipes

Some features use artificial intelligence, including Direct import, which uses Google Gemini to turn recipe text into a structured recipe. You can also use your own AI assistant by copying a prompt from the App.

Outputs may be wrong. AI-generated or converted recipes can contain errors in ingredients, quantities, units, steps, cooking times or temperatures, and may omit or misstate allergens.
You must check before you rely on a recipe. Review every imported recipe, especially for allergies, dietary needs and food safety, before cooking or sharing it.
No professional advice. Imported or AI-generated content is not medical, nutritional or food-safety advice.
Your own AI assistant. If you use a third-party AI assistant, its terms and privacy policy apply, and we are not responsible for its output.
How we handle the data sent for Direct import is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Plan Limits and Fair Use

Free and Premium accounts have different limits. At the time of writing, free accounts can use up to 5 Direct imports per week (resetting each Monday at 00:00 UTC) and add up to 10 meals per week to the meal planner, while Premium accounts have no limit on Direct imports. [CONFIRM: all figures]

Limits are checked on our servers and can change. We will update these Terms or the App when they do.
A Direct import only counts toward your limit when it succeeds.
You must not try to bypass limits, automate imports, or use the import feature to scrape or bulk-copy content from other sites.
We may restrict or suspend import access for abuse or to protect the service.

11. App Availability & Disclaimer

Gobble Guide is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee:

The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
That all UGC is accurate, complete, or safe.
That imported or AI-generated recipes are accurate or complete.
That data loss will never occur.

You use the App at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gobble Guide and its creators are not liable for:

Losses arising from inaccurate UGC.
Errors or omissions in imported or AI-generated recipes, including allergen, nutrition, or food-safety information.
Any injury, damage, or loss caused by recipes or food preparation.
Data loss, security breaches, or unauthorized access.
Use or inability to use the App.

13. Termination

We may suspend or permanently terminate your access if:

You violate these Terms.
We are required to do so by law.
The App is discontinued.

You may stop using the App at any time.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made:

The “Last Updated” date will be adjusted.
Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
